What qualifies for Oregon Promise?

100% accuracy on a label, does not necessarily mean it must be 100% one varietal or of one source or AVA. Below are examples of labels that would both qualify.

All varietals are listed on the label.

This wine is a blend of two different sources. The Tax and Trade Bureau (TTB) requires that if the wine is a blend of two separate AVAs, one must use the larger geographic area. This particular example includes Syrah from the Oregon side of the Walla Walla AVA and Pinot noir and Gamay from the Willamette Valley AVA. Therefore, it can’t be labeled one AVA or another, it must be labeled as Oregon.

Varietal is 100% Pinot noir.

Source is 100% Yamhill-Carlton AVA
